Inbox Serial

Privacy Policy

Effective July 21, 2026 · Last updated July 21, 2026

1. Who We Are

Inbox Serial (“Inbox Serial,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Inbox Serial, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. We deliver classic, public-domain literature in short, scheduled email installments through our website at inboxserial.com (the “Site”) and our email delivery service (together, the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site, the signup flow, our waitlist, and the emails we send.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to operate the Service.

Information you provide directly:

Information we generate in operating the Service:

Information collected automatically:

Information we do NOT collect: passwords, names (unless volunteered), payment card data, precise location, or data from third-party sources. We do not purchase, rent, or append email lists.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

We do not sell your personal information, use it to train AI models, or send you marketing for third-party products. Emails from us are limited to: the installments you requested, transactional messages about your subscription (confirmation, unsubscribe confirmation, billing when applicable), and occasional service announcements about Inbox Serial itself (for example, new catalog titles), which are sent to subscribers by default and always include an unsubscribe link.

4. Consent and Double Opt-In

We use double opt-in: after you submit your email address, we send a confirmation email, and no installments are sent until you confirm. We retain the confirmation timestamp as a record of consent. Every email we send includes a working unsubscribe link and a one-click List-Unsubscribe header; unsubscribe requests are honored promptly and automatically.

5. Legal Bases and Scope

The Service is directed to residents of the United States. We do not target, and this Policy is not drafted for, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with extraterritorial privacy regimes. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and consent to the processing of your information in the United States.

To the extent US state privacy laws (e.g., the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, CCPA/CPRA) apply now or in the future, our practices are described in this Policy, and the choices in Section 8 are available to subscribers regardless of residence.

6. Service Providers (Processors)

We share personal information only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf — including providers of website and database hosting, email delivery, DNS and security, analytics, and payment processing — each acting on our instructions and permitted to use the information only to provide services to us. These providers process data in the United States or under their own published data-transfer safeguards. We may add or replace providers from time to time.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or property of Inbox Serial, our subscribers, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this Policy’s protections follow the data).

7. Data Retention

8. Your Choices and Rights

We will respond to requests within 30 days. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

9. Payments

For paid subscriptions, payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are not stored on our systems. We receive and store only what billing requires: subscription tier, status, renewal dates, and Stripe’s customer and transaction identifiers. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.

10. Security

All subscriber data is stored with access restricted to service credentials held by the LLC; the Site and all provider connections use TLS encryption in transit, and our database provider encrypts data at rest. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us an email address, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Do Not Track

Because there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret them, the Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. You can manage tracking technologies through the cookie and browser controls described in Section 2.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change, and for material changes affecting active subscribers we will provide notice by email or a prominent Site notice before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
